Dear Readers
It is my pleasure to welcome you to this inaugural issue of the Journal of Stress, Trauma, Anxiety, and Resilience (J-STAR) on behalf of the STAR Board and the J-STAR Editorial Board.
From the Society’s inception at ‘that fish restaurant’[1] the STAR Society and its members have been at the forefront of research and its dissemination in the areas of stress, anxiety, trauma, coping, and related areas. Our annual conference and, in the last decade or so, edited volumes of peer-reviewed papers have promoted the work of members and associates. This new initiative to publish our own journal is the next step in both promoting the work of members but also encouraging submissions and connections more broadly.
On behalf of all of STAR, I encourage you to not only read the papers in the journal, but also to promote the journal and opportunities to publish therein to your students and colleagues.
My thanks to those who have worked in the background to make this first issue – a COVID-19 Special Edition - happen and to the authors who have supported it with their submissions.
I look forward to receiving your papers for future editions of J-STAR.
Warm regards to all, Stay safe and well.
